Our story
How we started
Alect is run by people who come from the building trade, and that background shapes how we work: practical, hands-on and personally accountable for the quality of every job.
From the beginning our focus has been social housing. Most of what we do is responsive repairs, empty-home works and maintenance for housing associations, and over time we have extended the same service to facilities management companies and almshouse charities.

Our team covers building, joinery, plumbing, electrical work, plastering, flooring, roofing and glazing. Behind them, an office team schedules the work, keeps residents informed and reports back to clients.

Health and safety
Safe work in people's homes
Working in occupied homes carries responsibility. Our staff are trained for the work they do, wear the right protective equipment and plan each job so that residents, our team and the public are kept safe. Our health and safety policy and method statements are available to clients on request.
